Customer information – Coronavirus update
Current national restrictions remain in place for marriages and civil partnerships until 29th March. After this date, ceremonies can go ahead with restrictions reduced at each stage. The following numbers are allowed, subject to room capacity, and include the couple, witnesses and guests:
- 29th March: Up to 6 people present but no longer limited to ‘exceptional circumstances’.
- 12th April: Up to 15 people present*
- 17th May: Up to 30 people present*
- 21st June: No legal limit on number of people present if the government’s four conditions of lockdown easing have been met.
*If you have booked an Enhanced Ceremony in one of the Register Office rooms at St George’s Hall the number of people must include a maximum of 10 guests plus the couple, two Registrars and a photographer due to the size of the rooms and social distancing requirements. This information is for guidance only and may change at any time. See GOV.UK for more information on the roadmap to remove national restrictions.
